POST of the DAY

The Second Life forum saw a visit yesterday by Linden Lab CEO Rod Humble (aka Rodvik Linden). He posted to the thread 'Dear Rodvik, Please Phone Home'.

Said Rodvik: 'Heya! Thanks for the note!'

It was a feel-good message that made many, well, feel good.

Suspiria Finucane, aka Sus, used the opportunity to post her 'pity me, boo hoo' censorship badge and crow about some 'struggle turning..' Poor Sus, the only struggle turning is her own on herself. Good luck with that, Sus.

Typical to his form, Darrius Gothy posted yet another tl;dr thread as well as got at least one of his posts pulled. I hope you are not close to the limit for banning, Darrius, unless you are selectively choosing to not use the forums to shill your 'business'. Might be easier to walk away, no?

Quinn Morani exclaimed, '
Why, that is almost like old times!' when she saw the thread length. Yes, Quinn, it is indeed all about content. If you or others are not here to provide it, it is left up to those that *are* to do so.

Argus Collingwood captured the essence of the responders simply with:
'Welcome Home <33:smileywink:'

After all, our forum is his forum, too.

Keep focusing on the business, Rodvik, and continue empowering your management and staff.

TROLL of the WEEK

Each Sunday we will be identifying and posting the 'troll' of the forum.
OUR INAUGURAL TROLL of the WEEK goes to Ima Rang.

I want to thank Ima Rang for her input as she wins the coveted inaugural 'Troll of the Week' award.
We at SLConfidential get the impression this will not be her last award.  At the rate she is going she will end up with our 'Troll of the Year' award.  I am sure she will not disappoint us.  Ima's failed blog, forum, and twitter followers leads us to believe she is trolling for hits to her blog.  TC

Not for girls and boys...

With the rollout of the new, Lithium-based, Second Life forum in early March there have been the usual growing pains. Too much moderation, not the right type of moderation, 'WTF! You're moderating ME?!', and accusations of a list of mod favorites. Some regulars have fled to other fora, chirp on Twitter, or have disappeared altogether.

All to be expected, of course. One poster in particular, Suspiria Finucane (mistress and creator, according to her profile) announced that a number of posters on the old General Discussions forum would hit the skids, be permabanned by the mods, and she would reign as 'Queen of the Forum'.

Instead, sanity prevailed. She had to ditch her alt because it could not inherit her god-like status, she was RIC'ed (Report for Inappropriate Content) several times leading to a ban from the forum for at least one week, and she vented her dissatisfaction on the state of things both at CTUF (Community Tools User Forum) meetings and on her own flog.

Her sycophants went running to her side (DQ Darwin, Ima Rang, Nathaniel Scorpio, Quinn Morani, Ossian) and boo-hoo'ed the fate that Suspiria brought about herself. Few of them had the creativity to generate OPs and complained at the lack of good stuff to post to, seemingly not recognizing the contradiction of this view.

Others, notably Keli Kyrie, Wildcat Furse, and Valerie Inshan remained above the fray valiantly creating OPs in several categories with humor and grace.

Still others (Caitlin Tobias, Cato Badger, Derek Torvalar, Prokofy Neva, Seicher Rae, Storm Clarence, Venus Petrov, and Wilhiam Hydraconis) were declared 'mod favorites' and on Glenn's personal list of 'go to' people (more names pending 'confirmation'). We would love to see the proof (screen shots will suffice) of this unholy collaboration.

Why does no one point out to Suspiria that she flails at an agreement (forgiving RICs from the first week) that was made despite her lack of originality to request it? This, yes, is the hallmark of Sussy and her minions. They lack originality and complain at the lack of originality. Any attempts at originality are trolled, flamed, and baited. Tis a schoolyard on which they wish to play. I hope they find it on a G-rated sim.
