Ishy writes: According to Phaedra Starling's article Schrödinger's Rapist, one in six American women are sexually assaulted during their lifetime (the author subsequently conflates sexual assault with rape). Even Wikipedia quotes this fabricated number, which says a lot about the accuracy of this wannabe-encyclopedia. But apparently one in six is not shocking enough. Many discussion participants quote a website called 1 in 4, which -- as the name already suggests -- claims that one in four college-age women are rape survivors.


This sounds quite unbelievable, so I went looking for statistics
